Our new Co-Artistic Directors, Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey announce their first RSC season of work, with eight Shakespeare plays, three world premieres, a European premiere, a UK premiere, two major revivals and two visiting productions.
The new season looks ahead to a full year across all of our Stratford-upon-Avon theatres: the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the Swan Theatre, The Other Place and the re-opening of our popular outdoor performance space, The Holloway Garden Theatre.
Across the season in Stratford-upon-Avon there will be 25,000 tickets at £25 or less. This will run alongside the TikTok £10 tickets for 14 to 25-year-olds and state school students.

Sent by the ghost of his father to avenge his brutal death, Hamlet’s mission to expose the truth is a perilous journey of madness, murder and lost love. Luke Thallon takes the title role, reuniting with Olivier Award-winning Director Rupert Goold.

- Hanif Kureishi’s The Buddha of SuburbiaSouth London in the late seventies. It's the winter of discontent, but for 17-year-old Karim life is about to explode into glorious technicolour. This global stage premiere is a co-production with Wise Children adapted for the stage by Emma Rice, with Hanif Kureishi.18 April - 1 June 2024

King LearIn Ukrainian without surtitles. First performed in a small western Ukraine town during the height of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Uzhhorod Theatre Company present Shakespeare's tragedy, adapted and directed by Vyacheslav Yehorov, exploring the parallels of haunting loss between the experiences of Ukrainian refugees and the themes in the play.15 June 2024 (2 performances only)

The New RealA major new political play by David Edgar receives its world premiere, directed by Artistic Director of Headlong Theatre Holly Race Roughan.
THE HOLLOWAY GARDEN THEATRE
The Holloway Garden Theatre will return to Stratford-upon-Avon with a new staging of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It directed by Brendan O’Hea. 18 July - 1 September
This will be accompanied by a series of family-friendly workshops and eventsas well as a new re-interpretation of The Two Gentlemen of Verona by young people aged 12-18 from our talent development pipeline Next Generation Act. 22 - 24 August
