AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Travis-County medics found a dead body in an east Austin lake Monday.ATCEMS, Austin Police and Austin Fire all responded to a call for a water rescue, and it described a body floating in Lake Walter E. Long off of Blue Bluff Road. ATCEMS tweeted about the call at 7:21 p.m. and then followed it three minutes later to confirm an adult had died.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it is investigating the death of a man who died in police custody one week ago.
On Monday, police identified the man as 35-year-old Jermaine Sims.
Police said Austin 911 got multiple calls at 4:02 p.m. June 17 about a disturbance at a Circle K store on the South Interstate 35 frontage road near Slaughter Lane in south Austin. Callers said a man was "acting erratic" and "throwing things" inside the store.

New Tacodeli location opening on South Lamar in July

Person dies after being hit by vehicle in northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A person died Monday morning after being hit by a vehicle on Cameron Road in northeast Austin, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
ATCEMS said in a post on X at 6:17 a.m. it was responding to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the 9200 block of Cameron Road, which is near Rundberg Lane.
Medics performed CPR on the person who was hit, but the person was ultimately pronounced dead on the scene.
