About GamerPay — GamerPay Blog (2024)

Welcome to GamerPay

Join us here to learn more about GamerPay, its mission, team and other investors and partners who are part of it - and why we even started the company.

In its essence, GamerPay is mixture of hardcore talent and passion, with a crystal clear goal of enabling any gamer to trade skins safely. Building a regulated marketplace that handles digital assets is not easy. Even harder is it to earn peoples trust, in particular in a space filled with unregulated sites and people conducting shady and unlawful business.

From nothing in 2021 GamerPay has now grown into a community of more than 300.000 people while handling thousands of trades every day. We have just started, and we look forward leveling further up!

Learn more about how we got started and much more below.

  • About GamerPay — GamerPay Blog (1)

    Our Mission

We are on mission to help casual as well as experienced gamers trade items effortlessly, with no risk of monetary loss. We do that by delivering a service that makes item trading safe and easy!

  • About GamerPay — GamerPay Blog (2)

    Our Vision

We envision a future, where digital items are just as much a part of your identity as today’s physical goods are. Our vision is to build a global, open marketplace for gaming skins, enabling seamless and secure transactions for gamers. Like Coinbase helped transition crypto from the dark internet, we want to lead the adoption of gaming cosmetics.

How it all started

Martin had for several years been the owner of the largest Counter-Strike community in Northern Europe, a Facebook group with more than 80,000 members. Not a day went by where Martin and the team wasn’t contacted by gamers who were scammed, either by losing money or the skin itself.

With a background in building transactional marketplaces, Martin looked for a safer platform from which he could advise members to go and conduct their business. However, there weren’t many viable options. Most places either had hidden fees, were way too expensive or unavailable because of age and territorial restrictions.

Because of this the team decided to investigate further. They conducted a deeper research where 5.000 gamers were involved throughout Europe.
The results they found were concerning.
46% of the people gamers had previously had been scammed, a lot of whom were minors.

And thus, GamerPay was born.

Martin gathered a small group of passionate people to build and launch a safe place to trade virtual items and skins.

GamerPay launched in May 2021.
